Anne Kornhauser, who received her PhD from Columbia, is an Assistant Professor of History at the City College of New York, City University of New York. She specializes in 20th-century U.S. intellectual, legal, and political history. Her forthcoming book is Debating the American State: Liberal Anxieties and the New Leviathan, 1930-1970 (University of Pennsylvania Press, February 2015). She has also written about liberalism for the Oxford Encyclopedia of Cultural and Intellectual History (OUP, 2013).
