Ashish Rajadhyaksha is a film and cultural theorist. He is the co-author of the Encyclopaedia of Indian Cinema and of the book titled Indian Cinema in the Time of Celluloid: From Bollywood to the Emergency. He co-curated (with Geeta Kapur) the show Bombay/Mumbai 1992-2001, part of the Tate Modern’s Century City: Art and Culture in the Modern Metropolis (2001). He is also curating the major West heavens Film event in beijing titled You Don’t Belong: Pasts and Futures of the Indian Cinema (Beijing, November-December 2011).  He is the Senior Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Culture & Society, Bangalore.
