Benjamin Kohlmann

Benjamin Kohlmann is Assistant Professor of English literature at the University of Freiburg and Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow at the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. His recent work has been published or is forthcoming in ELH, PMLA, and Modernism/Modernity. He has completed a book manuscript on British left-wing writing of the 1930s. His new project examines ideas of social welfare in literature and economics, 1880-1930. He is currently working on an essay on “Literature, Liberalism, and Economics” for the edited collection Late Victorian into Modern, 1880-1920, ed. Laura Marcus and Kirsten Shepherd-Barr (Oxford UP, 2014)
