Donald Kelley

Donald Kelley is James Westfall Thompson Professor Emeritus of History at Rutgers University.  Specializing in European intellectual history, history of law, and western historiography, Kelley served for many years as editor of the Journal of the History of Ideas. In 2012, Kelley was awarded the American Historical Association Award for Scholarly Distinction for his pioneering work. Among Kelley's many publications include The Writing of History and the Study of Law (1997), Faces of History: Historical Inquiry from Herodotus to Herder (1998), and The Descent of Ideas: The History of Intellectual History (2002).
