Emerson Bowyer is Assistant Curator of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Metropolitan Museum. He has previously worked at The Frick Collection and The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and his exhibitions include David d'Angers: Making the Modern Monument and Luminous Worlds: British Works on Paper, 1760-1900. He recently completed his dissertation--"Numismatic Modernity"--at Columbia University.
