Gregg Horowitz

Gregg Horowitz is Chair of Social Science and Cultural Studies at Pratt Institute.  He taught philosophy for 17 years at Vanderbilt University, and his areas of specialization include aesthetics and the philosophy of art history, critical theory of culture, and philosophy and psychoanalysis. Horowitz was a Berthold Leibinger Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin. His books include Sustaining Loss: Art and Mournful Life, and The Wake of Art: Criticism, Philosophy, and the Ends of Taste (co-author (with Tom Huhn and Arthur Danto).
