Hakan Tell

Hakan Tell is Assistant Professor of Classics at Dartmouth College. He received his B.A. from the University of Lund, Sweden. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. His areas of expertise include Greek literature; sociology of ancient cultures; and the Greek wisdom tradition, including the sophists.

Professor Tell's selected works include “Sages at the Games: Intellectual Displays and Dissemination of Wisdom in Ancient Greece,” Classical Antiquity (2007); “Wisdom for Sale? The Sophists and Money,” Classical Philology (2009); and Plato’s Counterfeit Sophists (2011).
