Hans Rausing Professor of History and Philosophy of Science

Hasok Chang is the Hans Rausing Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge. He researches the history and philosophy of chemistry and physics from the 18th century onward, philosophy of scientific practice, and other topics in the philosophy of science including measurement, realism, evidence, pluralism, and pragmatism. He previously worked as a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy of Science at University College London. He served as the President of the British Society for the History of Science from 2012-2014 and as the Vice-President from 2014-2015. He co-founded the Society for Philosophy of Science in Practice and founded the Committee for Integrated History and Philosophy of Science.
