Hayden White

Hayden White is University Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Professor of Comparative Literature at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.  His books have had a profound influence on the practice and conceptualization of all the humanities disciplines.  His publications include Metahistory: The Historical Imagination (1973), Tropics of Discourse (1978), The Content of the Form (1987), and Figural Realism (1997).
