Jamal Roberts founded Darkroom Productions with his friend Juan Donovan Bell. Over the years he and partner have produced for groundbreaking artists such as R. Kelly, Wale, Kevin Gates, Young Money, Maino, Bad Boy Records, and many more. Roberts and Bell were hired by HBO to do original music for the award winning show The Wire, which led to a creative deal with MTV/Viacom in which they did original music for a number of shows, including Rob & Big.
In 2013 the guys decided to expand their brand beyond music production and now run a record label, a management firm, and multiple brand partnerships stretching across everything from clothing lines to alcoholic beverages.
