Jana Beránková is a PhD Student at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP.) Before joining GSAPP, Jana studied in Berlin, Paris and Prague. She received a graduate diploma of the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and M.A. at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. Her research interests include Czechoslovak avant-garde, Karel Teige, Central European architecture, contemporary continental philosophy and theory, especially thinking of Alain Badiou. Besides that, she is active as a writer and critic.
