Joshua L. Miller is Associate Professor of English at the University of Michigan. He is the author of Accented America: The Cultural Politics of Multilingual Modernism (Oxford, 2011), editor of the Cambridge Companion to the American Modernist Novel (Cambridge, forthcoming), and co-editor of The Languages of Modern Jewish Cultures: Comparative Perspectives (University of Michigan Press, forthcoming). He has published essays on James Baldwin and Richard Avedon, John Sayles, Theresa Cha, and Carlos Bulosan. He is currently working on a counter-history of US immigrant novels and a study of photography and modernism.
