Projit Mukharji is primarily interested in the Histories of Medicine in South Asia -- both the vernacularized forms of "western" medicine, as well as the region's various "indigenous" medical traditions. In addition to writing on medicine, he has also published on the history of sport and Victorian popular culture. Thematically, he is most interested in issues of vernacularization, subalternity, "experience," temporalities, non-historical pasts, and lately, "globalization."
