Marilyn Young is a collegiate professor of History at the University of New York. Professor Young recieved her PhD in US-East Asian relations. Her thesis went on to become her first book: Rhetoric of Empire: American China Policy, 1895-1901, which she published in 1969.

Eli Zaretsky

Eli Zaretsky has taught at Lang College since 1999. His interests are in twentieth century cultural history, the theory and history of capitalism (especially its social and cultural dimensions), and the history of the family. His most recent book, Secrets of the Soul: A Social and Cultural History of Psychoanalysis, is currently being translated and appearing in the major European languages as well as Chinese. He is the editor of The Polish Peasant in Europe and America; and of Capitalism, the Family and Personal Life, which itself appeared in 14 languages. He is currently writing a book entitled The Idea of the Left.
