Susana Zapke

Susana Zapke is Professor of Historical and Urban Musicology at the Konservatorium City of Vienna University and Researcher at the Austrian Academy of Science. In 1990, she received her Master of Arts in Musicology and Literature with honors  from the University of Cologne. In 1993, she was awarded a PhD at Hamburg University; her Habilitation is from the University of Salzburg. She teaches music history (medieval and Renaissance music, music of the Viennese school, music and war) and musical notation (9th-20th century). She is Chair of the Master of Arts Education (2010-2013) and Vice-Chair of the Master of Social Design (2012/13). Her publications include Hispania Vetus (2007), Fragmentos Litúrgico-musicales de la Edad Media en archivos de Aragón (2007), El antifonario de San Juan de la Pena (siglos X-XI): Estudio liturgico-musical del riot hispano (1995), and Das Antiphonar von Sta. Cruz de la Serós, XII. Jh (1996).
