Thomas Piketty

Thomas Piketty is Professor of Economics at the Paris School of Economics. His distinctions include Le Monde's prize for Best Young Economist. Research by Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez on the growing income inequality in the U.S. helped trigger public American debates about the 1%, and has won mention in White House budget documents and the New York Times and drawn criticism from the Wall Street Journal.  He received the Le Monde newspaper's Best Young Economist award and the Centre national de la recherche scientifique Bronze Medal in 2001.
