Wendy B. Faris is Professor and Chair of the English Department at the University of Texas at Arlington. She has a B.A. from Stanford in Spanish and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard. Her publications include Ordinary Enchantments: Magical Realism and the Remystification of Narrative (2004); Labyrinths of Language: Symbolic Landscape and Narrative Design in Modern Fiction (1988); and Carlos Fuentes (1983). She has co-edited (with Lois Parkinson Zamora), Magical Realism: Theory, History, Community (1995). She is currently working on articles in the fields of interarts analysis, Carlos Fuentes, and Ben Okri.
